October is one of the best months to live in Post Falls. The cottonwoods along the Spokane River turn gold, the air gets that crisp edge, and the town calendar fills up with fall gatherings. Best of all, you don’t have to drive far — here’s what’s happening right here in town this month.
Oktoberfest at Eats on Spokane Street — Saturday, October 17
Break out the lederhosen and bring the whole family to 106 N Spokane Street for a full day of food, beer, live music, and fall fun at Eats on Spokane Street’s Oktoberfest. It’s a free, all-ages celebration — an easy Saturday outing whether you’re there for the brats, the bands, or just the people-watching.
Dueling Pianos — Friday, October 16
For a grown-ups’ night out, head to The Club at Prairie Falls (3200 N Spokane St) at 7 p.m., where dueling piano performers take over the dining room stage for an impromptu comedic piano battle. Expect dinner, laughs, and plenty of audience participation — no cover charge listed, so it’s a date night that won’t break the bank.
Trick-or-Treat at Post Falls City Hall — Friday, October 30
Bring the little ones in costume to Post Falls City Hall from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for a free Under the Sea-themed afternoon of trick-or-treating, costumes, treats, and family Halloween fun. It’s a safe, daytime way for young kids to show off their costumes and fill their buckets before the big night.
Harvest Festival — October 31 to November 1
Close out the month at the free community harvest festival hosted by Real Life Ministries at The Fields, 1916 Charleville Rd. Expect family-friendly fall fun across two days — a low-key alternative (or addition) to traditional trick-or-treating.
Make a month of it
With something happening nearly every weekend, October is a great excuse to get out and enjoy the town. Events can change, so it’s worth confirming details with the venue or organizer before heading out. However you spend it, fall in Post Falls is a reminder of how much there is to enjoy close to home — and how lucky we are to live in a community that celebrates the season together.
